In the age of Amazon, we wish we would be able to offer free shipping or very low shipping rates like Amazon. However, shipping perishables is very expensive, and the rates for shipping our boxes are all caluclated by the carrier. We do not make any profit from our shipping, and in many case we absorb the shipping cost on the shipments. What is factored in for shipping is the cost of the box, the insulation, the dry ice, the packing materials, and the carriers fees. We would love nothing more than to ship at a minimum cost to our customers.

We understand the hesitation to pay high prices for shipping and relate completely. We are always looking for connections with carriers in order to lower the cost of shipping.

With that said, we are constantly offering promotions to help offset some of the price of shipping, as well as discounts on our process. We also offer a subscription service which offers free shipping to many areas. We also offer curated bundles that include free shipping anywhere in the continental US.

We provide local delivery in Chicago and surrounding subsurbs for $9.99 for all orders within 32 miles from zip code 60169. Any $150+ order within the 32 mile zone—before taxes and after promotions— are eligible for free delivery.

All deliveries outside of our 32-mile range, require a minimum order of a $150 for delivery with our cooler trucks. Delivery can be provided for $24.99 for all orders 32-43 miles from zip code 60169. Alternatively, shipping via UPS is also available and may be more cost-efficient.

We know that many people are excited to try our products and we are constantly changing our promotions in order to offer our customers new and exciting things to try! In order to continue to offer you the best promotions, discounts cannot be combined.

We select only the highest quality animals with the best rearing and husbandry practices. We have been working with local family farms and Amish communities since we began in 1997.

When it comes to what the animals eat, every animal is different: Goats are natural grazers, and their diet consists typically of grass and weeds. This is what makes their meat very lean.

Lambs are naturally grass-fed on these family farms and Amish communities. The last 30 days before harvesting lamb farmers may feed them grains depending on that family's farming practices.

Our beef is also sourced from third generation local regenerative family farm and their cattle is pasture-raised grass fed and grain-finished. The farmers grow their own grain in order to ensure that the grain-finished beef is fed the highest quality grains. The farm uses the manure produced by the cattle to fertilize the feed that they grow.

Our chicken is sourced from a third-generation family farm that raises their chicken hormone-free, antibiotic-free, cage-free, non-GMO, and are fed a 100% vegetarian diet, this does include soy.

Ultimately every family farm has its own husbandry practices. We have worked with a large network of family farms and Amish communities over these last 22 years. We could not and would not want to make any claim that any particular animal is fed a specific diet with certainty. These family farms and Amish communities do not raise livestock as a job, it is a way of life for them and their families. We encourage everyone to visit a small family farm and see their traditional practices, to better understand where your meat comes from.

Our meats are never aged. We receive the livestock to our facility from the harvesting facility on the day of harvest. The following day we process the meats and package them by vacuum seal. We then freeze the meats for shipping or keep fresh for local delivery. We take pride in offering the freshest meats possible.

Yes, all of our meats are all processed by hand. We take pride in offering high quality meats, and believe that our process is what makes a significant difference in the quality and taste of our meats.
